Eric Dier's journey with Bayern Munich is all set to end this summer as the Bundesliga side are reluctant to extend the player's contract.

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Per , Bayern have decided not to offer a new contract to the English defender, whose current deal expires at the end of this season. The report also claims that, while Dier is keen on staying in Munich, the club will not offer him an extension as they plan to use Josep Stanisic as a central defender from next season.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Stanisic is predominantly a right full-back but he can also contribute as a centre-back from time to time. The Bavarian side are banking on the Croatian's versatility and, as a result, are not too keen on extending Dier's stay. Japan international Hiroki Ito has also been impressive for Vincent Kompany's side at the heart of the team's defence in the 2024-25 season.
